Adam, but with 4 D's.

Post by Addddam on Thu May 27, 2010 3:07 pm

Hey guys. Some of you hopefully know me. I'm from the IW forums but atm I'm also frequenting the EA forums.

I play Xbox. If you wanna add me, my GT is Addddam (same as my username everywhere, really).

I do avatars and sigs and stuff. You can see 'em on my Photobucket account. If you want one, let me know in the chatbox or email me, addddam AT live.co.uk.

On that note, if you're at all interested in photography, I also do a lot of that. I've got a gallery deviantART and on Flickr.

That's about it. I'll make a few posts eventually for but now, see you all in the chatbox. Smile

Just had a look at your photos.

They show some promise, and some level of photographic skill. I do think, however, that the rule-of-third style that you seem to have adopted would be better suited for still life or macro photography. When there's a good landscape, the photo often takes itself. Setting up a still life or macro shoot is different - you set up the subject, the lighting, the camera. There's a lot more to go wrong, but at the same time you're more in control. Try taking some simple photos of things you find around your house, use that rule of thirds guideline you've probably heard somewhere.

It's just that landscape, architectural and even nature photography can be a real pain in the arse if you don't have the perfect subject, and if I'm brutally honest, you've not found that subject yet.

Thanks, I know what you mean although I wouldn't really evaluate myself on it, simply because I'm not actively busy with it and not all pictures were for college actually (the three black and white photo's and a few more were).

Most of what I did was discovering and experimenting, (some of the photo's were simply taken to show something (more as evidence of what I saw lol) without thinking about composition) if I needed a picture of a "reflection" or "lightning" or "one point perspective" I would would get something that had a reflection, etc.

I'm definately not that advanced in photography.
